durian

I've never really been a fan of this fruit ever since I can remember. Although my dad absolutely loves it and keeps a supply hidden in our freezer, I've never really bothered to try and appreciate it except for the candy kind or unless dared to do so, for a prize.

So in our recent trip to Davao, a colleague who went there for the first time excitedly asked us to join her in the quest for durian, in whatever kind it may be.

Fastforward to Jack's Ridge, a dining destination that offers a breathtaking view of Davao. Here we were able to sample:

...durian cheesecake at Taklobo Restaurant

and durian coffee gelato and durian coffee at Karlo's Gourmet and Coffee

and here's what we have to say:

I'm just kidding. Here's what I really meant to say:

It was g-o-o-o-o-o-d! I especially liked the cheesecake. It was just delicious! If only I hadn't eaten too much, I wouldn't have eaten another slice. The coffee and coffee gelato is something you need to get used to to be able to appreciate it more. It had durian bits or pulp which reminded me of grated cheese. Don't ask me why.

I'm definitely going back to get my fill of durian.
